Step 1

Modem Driver Installation Windows 95/98 Setup 1. Close all applications. Choose Start Settings Control Panel. Double-click on Modems. If a Modem Properties window appears, Click Add. If you are using a laptop, you may be presented with a screen asking “What type of modem do you want to install?” Select the Other button. Current: Win10 USB drivers for 9555 and 9575 Extreme; Win10 USB drivers for 9555 and 9575 Extreme. For the satellite phones Iridium 9555 and Iridium 9575 Extreme, there are now USB drivers for Windows 10 available. The drivers are unofficial, but we were tested successfully. Download the below Thuraya XT Upgrader program:

The Thuraya IP Voyager works with your computer using an Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection much like commercially available wireless routers. Step 2

Installing the Thuraya XT modem on a PC or laptop:

  • Connect your Thuraya XT with the PC/laptop via USB data cable
  • Select Start > Settings > Control Panel > System > Device Manager.
  • Check the USB serial port of Thuraya XT (e.g. COM40).
  • Select Start > Settings > Control Panel > Phone and Modem.
  • Select the Modems tab and press Add.
  • Check the box of “Don’t detect my modem; I will select it from a list.” and press Next.
  • Select and press Standard 56000 bps Modem and press Next.
  • Select the USB serial port that you previously checked on step 3 and press Next.
  • When the modem installation is completed, press Finish.

Step 3

Creating a dial-up connection:

  • Select Start > Settings > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center.
  • Select and press Set up a new connection or network.
  • Select and press Set up dial-up connection and then Next.
  • Enter *99# on the Dial-up phone number field. (Optionally you can enter user name and password).
  • Enter connection name and press Connect.
  • Use the Internet via the newly created dial-up connection.
